Dental Implants in New Zealand

As some of you may know, I've had some dental problems stemming from an accident as a little girl. My two front teeth, literally, where knocked dead and I have been very careful with a second set of crowns on them. They finally both came loose at the same time, and I had both of the entire tooth pulled and two titanium implant posts as replacements. Titanium apparently does a really good job of 'melding' to the jaw bone. I have some really gross photos to go with the event. Dr. Collins at Newmarket Dental and Dr. Myers at the Institute of Dental Implantology. This website explains what happened.

This is a not-so-gross photo, but there are plenty more really gross ones here. These are my actual 'not' teeth. Oddly enough these new teeth (with temporary crowns until I get porcelain replacements in a couple of months) feel tons stronger than my natural teeth. Now I have a bionic mouth! And, yes, it was really expensive.

Now that you've had your two front dental implants for a while, how do you like them? How satisfied are you with the aesthetic outcome? Would you do it again? I've had one front dental implant for about a year and continue to experience some gum irritation which my dentist has been unable to adequately address.

I'm very happy with my implants. I didn't have any problems. I was in and out in one day and had no follow up problems. So yesi would do it again and recommend it to others. Perhaps you should get a second opinion. Also I'm also very very good at cleaning and taking care of my teeth. I had to go through an 'application' process before my dentist would even do the work for me. An electronic toothbrush (oral b) is a must.

Hey!
I too had an accident when i was a kid and broke 3 front teeth.. I had root canals and crowns on but i feel they're getting loose. I'm 21 btw. having had the implants for about 6 years now may you please inform me whether they're still good or not. I'm really worried. I've read that the implant may fail after a few years or start causing trouble. Did you experience that? Thanks in advance

I'm back! Yes my NZ Dental Implants are stronger then ever. I do have to wear a night guard at night. A little grinding at night means the stronger implants can impact the adjacent natural teeth. Still best $ spent in NZ.
